I love this piece. Before I knew I was autistic I could never work out why I could see potential solutions to stuff other people hadn’t thought of. When I realised it was related to the way my brain works I stopped feeling like a freak or a smart arse.

I was unbalanced. This is me again after I had an awakening experience.

I now see something deeper, something more true that neurodivergent people have to hear.

Yes some neurodivergent-type symptoms are probably caused by neurotoxicity so we need to bear that in mind, be rightfully angry and react appropriately to those cases.

But even in these cases, even the most disfunctioning among us are a mirror for humanity and teach the world something it needs to hear.

However it comes about, neurodivergence is a signal from nature, and a gift.

Neurodivergence is nature trying out new technology, it is saying "stasis isn't working, look what the humans are doing, or more accurately, look what I'm doing", so it has produced variance.

We are that variance. We are nature finding the future.

We do not fit in because we're not supposed to fit in.

To fit in would be to fit with the current system, a system that has ravaged the earth, taken society to breaking point, and is locked in dead-end ideologies.

We are not. We see differently.

We are what the world needs, but we feel the pain of being on the periphery.

But do not feel your suffering is vain my brothers and sisters.

We suffer because we are the vanguard, nature trying something new outside a model that is dying.

We are natures attempt to restore balance.

And what do we find, as the original post implies: our skills are uniquely valuable for the aspects of society that are changing.

Numeracy, literal thinking that catches things that others would overlook, word fascination that allows us to bend and invert concepts.

In general our out-of-the box, "wrong planet" thinking is exactly what the world needs.

So that feeling of oddness, of never having fitted in: embrace it.

Embrace it my brothers and sisters for we are the future and it is our very non-fitting that is a gift that life has given itself.

Let's walk together into a future world of harmony, into a world of loving embrace where all are welcome.
