It's interesting to see how much your illustrations have developed in style. It feels like an indication that they might be more rewarding for you in their creation (I hope so). The clam shell is particularly resonating with me this morning and making me think about a client I have whose shell I haven't been able to prise open and the way in which a shell can sometimes offer the opposite of the protection we think it does.
I wouldn't have called it a watercolor style, but only because I don't know what to call it. So now I'll call it that. And I like that you think it's pitch-perfect.
I can relate: " I notice that often, when I'm very close to finishing something I get scared that it's bad and I leave the last 3% unfinished so I never have to find out for sure."
Thanks for telling me. I thought liked the beet the least. So maybe now I like it more. In this way drawing is like writing -- it's very hard for me to be a judge of my own work.

Love your flipbooks, Penelope! The watercolor style is pitch-perfect for them.
